When I have a bad day, I read the comments to this post from CCP_Logibro:
Some background on this topic
D.I.C.K.S. where announced during EVE Vegas in 2016. It is the shortened term for modules called Defender Integrated Counter-Kill System. These are supposed to be installed on destroyer class ships and shall intercept incoming bombs using a special type of missile. As it is planned at the moment, there can be only fitted one module per vessel, but with very low fitting costs.
This means you would need at least a few ships fitted that way to effectively fend off a hostile bombrun. Also the defender missile will destroy a random bomb it detects in it’s range of 45 km. Concerning this, capsuleers need to coordinate their D.I.C.K.S. to be effective. Well played CCP. Well played.
All in all, these modules could make wrecking fleets en masse – like Bombars Bar pulls off at times – more difficult.
Keep in mind D.I.C.K.S. might only be a working title,
they are not in the game yet.
Update 03.03.2017: Actually they are in the game!
Update 13.04.2017: Now they really confused me.
Will this just be a re-name or what? Ah… well I will see.
